| About
tooth bleaching |
People have whitened their teeth since the old Pharaoh's in
Egypt thousands of years ago. Hydrogen peroxide and later Carbamide
peroxide have been used for almost 100 years. Tooth bleaching
has become incredibly popular not only among celebrities but
also among ordinary people who wish to have a whiter smile.
There are many reasons for tooth discoloration. The most common
are aging, staining substances like tea, coffee, red wine and
tobacco. Others include tetracycline, trauma, excess fluoride
and nerve degeneration. These discolorations build up inside
the enamel and in the dentin. That is why you cannot brush away
the stains. Your teeth will not get whiter, only cleaner.
The most commonly used bleaching substance is carbamide peroxide.
This is a proven safe and gentle method. As the carbamide peroxide
is broken down, oxygen is released and actually breaking apart
the stains. The enamel is not harmed in any way.
Carbamide peroxide for tooth bleaching purposes is not classified
as a pharmaceutical product. It is very likely that it will
become a cosmetic substance within the EU in 2005. |

| Some good advice |
Most people (98%) will get a satisfactory result from a home
bleaching treatment. It is important to recognize the fact that
2% will not
Unfortunately there is no explanation available. Nor is it possible
to make predictions on how white your teeth will become.
If your teeth and gums are sound and healthy it is not necessary
to visit the dentist prior to bleaching. However, if you suffer
from any kind of gum or tooth decease or hesitate whether teeth
whitening is the right treatment for you, you should consult
your dentist.
Plaque should be removed and caries treated before you start.
Fillings, crowns etc will not be affected at all by the bleaching
gel.
You are not supposed to smoke, eat or drink during and within
2 hours of the bleaching session. Many smokers prefer to wear
the trays when sleeping to avoid this inconvenience
Do not buy teeth whitening products without individually
formed bleaching trays. Buy only from dentists, dealers with
and adequate training in making teeth impressions and of course
from Bella White. The experts warn you from using badly fitted
trays. The gel should stay on your teeth and not leak into
your mouth.
Don't put to much gel into the tray. It is always better
to be on the safe side and extend the treatment for a day
or two than to risk irritated gum tissues.
There is no scientific report indicating that bleaching can
be harmful during pregnancy. However, we recommend you to
wait.
Bella White gel syringes should be stored in a cool, dark
and dry place, like in the refrigerator. Syringes with an
unbroken seal can be stored in this way for 2 years.

| Before and after |
Almost all (98%) will have a satisfactory result, i.e. 2-6
shades on the scale below, from a Home-bleaching treatment.
The achieved number of shades on the scale will vary however.
It is important to know that 2% will not reach an acceptable
result and unfortunately there is no available explanation.

| Forming
your bleaching trays |
This will only take a couple of minutes.
N.B a more detailed instruction is enclosed in
each kit! |
| |
|
1.
Heat water to 65 o C and then put the tray in the water
for 15 seconds.
|
|
| |
|
2. Put the tray
over your teeth. Press from the outside.
|
|
| |
|
3. Keep the tray
in place for at least 2 minutes until it has cooled
off completely. Then separate the white part from the
outer coloured tray.
|
|
| |
|
4. The white tray
is used for bleaching.
|
|
| |
| Why
are the dual trays from Bella White so much better? |
Our trays are specially developed for tooth
whitening purposes where there is a particular requirement
for a perfect fit. Our trays are developed and manufactured
in Scandinavia.
The tray consists of two trays actually. The coloured
external tray acts as a moulding form. The inner white
tray melts like wax in hot water.

Will my teeth
stay white forever after?
In most cases unfortunately no. You have to make a touch
up treatment every 2-4 years depending on you life style
and eating/smoking/drinking habits.
Remember that home bleaching will last longer than a power
bleaching treatment. |
| Will Home
bleaching damage my teeth? |
No! The enamel and dentin is not affected
at all. Resent research indicates that drinking 1 can
of Coke will have a greater affect on your enamel than
a complete home bleaching treatment.
Scientists from all over the world state that there is
not one single report indicating any persistent harm or
damage what so ever caused by home bleaching.
The active ingredients in Bella White is carbamide peroxide
which is a sort of hydrogen peroxide. It is identically
the same as you get from the dentist. This is the only
scientifically tested substance that can bleach your teeth
without damaging the enamel. Hydrogen peroxide is available
in most stores and have many different applications.
When the carbamide peroxide reacts with air and saliva,
oxygen is released and leaves a residue of plain water.
The oxygen penetrates the enamel and breaks up the discoloration
stored in the dentin. |
| |
| What results
can I expect? |
| The great majority will get significantly
whiter teeth. The result is very much depending on the
reasons behind the discolourisation. 2-6 steps on the
white shade scale below is normal after one treatment. |
|
|
The end result will to a certain degree
vary with the time of treatment. If your discoloration
is caused by tobacco, red wine and coffee you can expect
a good result in a short time. Discoloration caused by
certain pharmaceutical products and other medical reasons
will take longer to bleach.
Be realistic! You will most likely not get a Hollywood-smile
if you have been a heavy smoker for 30 years, but you
will certainly experience a significant improvement. |
| |
| Are there
any side effects? |
Most people will not experience
any side effects at all.
In some cases you may feel an increased sensitivity in
your teeth typically after 2-4 days. This is caused by
a slight dehydration of your teeth. This is quite normal
and un harmful and will disappear within 1-3 days after
the completion of the treatment.
Some may experience soar gums. This is a typical beginner's
problem and is caused by putting to much bleaching gel
into the trays. Remember it is always better to under
dose and extend the treatment for a day or two.
|
| What causes
tooth decolouration? |
There are two types of tooth decolouration
and stains:
Internal stain. This means the stain occurs from within
the tooth and cannot be removed by brushing or flossing.
As we grow older, cracks will appear in the enamel and
open up for coloured substances to penetrate the enamel
layer and reach the dentin.
The most common reasons for decolouration include aging,
staining substances like, coffee, tea, tobacco, red wine,
trauma and tetracycline. Excessive fluoride is also a
common cause.
Bleaching using carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide
is the only way to get rid of this type of stain
External stain. This is stain on the tooth surface from
food, drink, tobacco etc. This type of stain can be removed
by good brushing habits and professional cleaning.

Comments:
Best teeth whitening product ever used! Have tried many
different versions over the last 4 years.. By far the
best.
May look more expensive than others but is 16% serum,
has 3x syringes of serum where as most only supply 2x,
has professional dual layer fitting gum shields and you
get 3 of them in case you damage any when fitting for
first time.
After a few days you could have glow in the dark teeth!
