Crunchy Vegetables & Fruit
Apples, celery, carrots, broccoli, and cucumbers are some of the foods which when eaten raw help to keep clean.
Wood Ash (Lye)
Get the finest ash from burnt charcoal, mix it with your toothpaste thoroughly, and then brush the mixture very slowly and very lightly on your teeth. Brush for 10 minutes. The base chemical in the ash is a powerful stain remover. This chemical Is Lye, which is often used in drain cleaners.
Is it the chemical that is cleaning the teeth or is it actually the abrasiveness of the charcoal. Although it does work, it will also grind away the enamel on your teeth.
Baking Soda
The use remedy of brushing teeth with a baking soda and salt mixture has been around for a many years, and for good reason. It can actually be effective in removing stains, especially with the help of peroxide. Baking soda will also help to kill bacteria, which causes plaque, and reduce acids, which can harm tooth enamel.
Baking soda is normally safe to use and easily obtained. If you do use a baking soda mixture, be extra careful around your gums so you don't irritate them.
Peroxide
Pour a little drop of hydrogen peroxide on your toothbrush and then put some baking soda on top then just brush your teeth with it. Rinse your mouth when you’re done. (Note: it tastes really bad and do not swallow!!!)
Gargling with peroxide is said to whiten teeth. This is true to some extent, but keep in mind that over-the-counter peroxide is not nearly as concentrated as the peroxide found in effective teeth whiteners.
The popular peroxide remedy is to brush your teeth normally, swish peroxide around your teeth, and then rinse with water. This is safe, however it may irritate the gums and cause tooth sensitivity over time.
Baking Soda, Salt & Vinegar Combined
Mix on small plate the following
1 tsp baking soda
Dash of salt
Then add a few drops of white vinegar, which will foam. Rub or brush on your teeth, then brush with toothpaste afterwards.
Salt
Use plain table salt on your toothbrush to remove plaque, tartar and bad breath.
Then brush a second time with toothpaste and sprinkle salt over the paste.
Mustard Oil & Salt
Rub mustard oil and salt - beautiful results. It might give a burning sensation to gums but it is a home remedy that many people use.
Bay leaves & Orange Peel
Make a paste by grinding dried bay leaves and dried orange peels and adding a little water. Use as a teeth whitener.
